The Delicate Flower of the Mimosa Tree

The showy flowers of the mimosa tree resemble little puffballs and vary in colors from white, yellow and pink to coral red. Its fern-like leaves are sensitive to touch folding themselves in during periods of rain and at night, giving the mimosa tree its nickname “night sleeper” or “sleeping tree”.
