Male Ruby-Throated Hummingbird
Hummingbirds perform some incredible aerial maneuvers. Probably best compared with a helicopter hovering in place, they can fly straight up and down, sideways and even backwards. They flap their wings about 80 times per second. With their long beak hummingbirds can reach far down a flower to extract the sweet nectar and are therefore an important pollinator for flowering plants.
